Once I met the girl who immigrated from Singapore to our country. And her name is Lishan Lu. Whether it became very interesting to me and I began at it it is pleasant to ask it in Russia. Lishan also tells how it happened that it left highly paid work in the native land and that gives it life in Russia. — Lishan with what your hobby for Russian began? — I heard the Russian Song "Evenings Situated Near Moscow" when I was only 15 years old. This song very much touched me. I wanted to learn about it more thanks to what I heard also other Russian songs. So still before I began to speak Russian, already sang in Russian. I understood nothing, but so I wanted to learn, learn more about Russian.— You say that for Singaporeans the desire to study Russian was strange. And what can attract them in Russia? — Culture. But not language – for many it too exotic and difficult. Though now in Singapore already it is more wishing to study Russian. In many respects thanks to this vigorous Muscovite, my teacher who created recently Russian Center in Singapore. The nature, open spaces will attract Singaporeans also. In Singapore there is no such nature as in Russia, – there everything is built up. And in Russia there are fantastic places. I got acquainted long ago with the Russian artists and their creativity. And having arrived here, the eyes could see, take pleasure everything in landscapes which saw only in pictures! I drew a conclusion that in other countries people respect our country and even sing our songs.
